Promises to Keep

I finished the book, Promises to Keep, that I talked about in another blog post.  I have to be honest, I was not expecting much and was pleasantly surprised.  It was an easy-to-read story that kept me interested the entire time.  There were a few moments of information that I skimmed over, but not many.   It is a story of family and changes and lots of other things and the shifting between characters is great.

I also really liked that it felt so truthful and the advice, if you can call it that, that comes about talking to kids about something pretty important is generally on target.  Despite being a good book, it is more of a library one than a run out and buy it (to me).

Also, talk to me if you are looking for a refreshing beach read, because this sucker had me almost in tears by the pool, so it is not quite the “feel good” beach read.
